What we are An independent publisher of historical and educational material about Australian companies and market institutions. We are not a licensed financial adviser, broker or fund manager, and we do not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence.

What happens after you write

If you are reporting an error, include the page address and what you observed. We will check it against the source document, tell you whether we agree, and if we do, correct the page with a dated note.

If you are suggesting a subject, tell us what you think is worth documenting and why. Reader suggestions genuinely shape what gets researched — several articles in preparation came from reader mail. We will tell you plainly if a suggestion falls outside the archive's scope.

If you have a question about Australian company history, ask it. We cannot promise an article in reply, but we will answer where we can, and we will say so when we do not know.

What we cannot help with. Questions about your own investments — what to buy, whether to sell, how much to invest, or how your portfolio should be arranged. Those require an adviser who knows your circumstances, and we are not licensed to answer them. You can check whether a person or firm holds an Australian Financial Services Licence using the free ASIC registers.

A security note. Never send us, or anyone else, your bank or brokerage login details, account numbers, tax file number, passport or driver's licence details, or passwords. We will never ask for them, and nothing the archive does requires them.
